Hello, since it has been a week or so since our last post here is an update. I spent a full week in Germany flying around and tossing parachutists out of the back of the plane in Germany while KristI spent a week hanging out with her friends, working at home, and helping other friends move into their new house. Germany was wonderful and warm, we all ate lots of good German food and made it up to the wine festival. The festival was held at a place called the residence which apparently in German stands for "gigantic palace with beautiful gardens." They served wine by the glass, a real wine glass, and we had pasta in real ceramic bowls, not plasticware to be found. This was not a small festival there was probably upwards of 3000 people there by 11:00 PM. The photo is from the garden in the residence. I have never been a big fan of German wine but this was all made locally and was amazing. Still quite sweet like most German wine seems to be but much deeper in flavor than most I have had from that region.
Well yesterday we continued our short tradition of finding a pub to watch England play football, but this time were very disappointed when they lost a nill nill 120 minute game slip through their fingers in PKs. So they are finished after a strong showing, amazingly everyone around seems to be taking it well.
Today we spent a day out at IKEA one of our favorite places to go wander and shop here in England. Yes I know it is not an English store but the prices our much easier on our pocket books than most places. We took the Subaru and our friends who just moved into their new house took a borrowed Blazer. We barely fit all the stuff that they bought into both cars it was quite the shopping spree.
Tomorrow is our "annual" fourth of July BBQ annual I n quotes because it is not always at our house and not always even in the same country but we are always with family or friends so it feels very much like a tradition. It is a little strange to be celebrating independence from the very country we are living in so we try to keep a little quiet. But we are going up to the base for fireworks so it will feel like the US at least for tomorrow. More to come on the gathering we should have some pictures to post as well. Talk to ya soon.
