Kristi and I are sitting here and listening to the newest Britney Spears songs...Now before you laugh uncontrollably keep reading...during the first few songs of which we only liked one or two I remember Bebo Norman had just released a single entitled "Britney." So with the wonders of Rhapsody we listened to it. I was intrigued so I "googled" it and came upon an article that is linked at the end of the post. What struck me so strongly about what he writes is how true his words are. Even as Christians we seldom realize how powerful our words are for good and evil. Imagine a whole world of people and their words directed at dissecting your life...
Here just a small piece of the article linked below:
" 'Britney' is a song about what our culture says and does to young women these days." Bebo Norman writes "It’s about the lies we tell them about fame and money and what’s beautiful and what will give them life. It’s an apology for those lies. But more than that, it’s an invitation to the truth about a God who is bigger than the pain this world so often leaves them in."
